• Understand the use of different media in reporting a story
• Be able to compare the coverage in different media

You will be working today in groups or pairs

Starter (10 mins)

Use Mind42 to create a mindmap of the different media where you might expect to find a news story

Activity (10 mins)

Set up an account at Prezi and use the LEARN videos to get a basic understanding of how Prezi works

Task (30 mins)

Choose a news item from the past week to explore
Find articles/footage/comments from as many sources as possible about your news item
Take a screenshot of the article and NOTE the location

Task (50 mins)

Create a Prezi scrapbook of your news coverage

Task (10 mins)

Print 1 copy each and each write a paragraph explaining how different media had different BIAS when reporting the story

Plenary (10 mins)

Swap Prezi's with someone from another group - give it a like/dislike - remember you have to comment when you give a Dislike!
